Final Solid

15.04.16

The solid shape that I have decided to 3D print is the TYPE design. I made a few adjustments to the original plans and incorporated the extrude to a point tool in Rhino to give the letterforms more depth. After some discussion with classmates I decided the best approach would be to extrude to a point that was perpendicular with the top of my model and print it upside down. This way the 3D printer will have a flat base to work off and help to print the model more accurately.

Initially I had extruded to a point in the centre of the model so both the top and base are tapered inward.

The model I will print has a flat top and sharper edges at the base of the letters.
